Full Review of Temple Run 2 – Fast and furious II

Action

Temple Runs 2 continues the saga of risky adventures and energetic, acrobatic stunts started by its predecessor. I don’t hesitate to say that it’s that remarkable case when a sequel is actually much better than the original game.

This statement can be backed up by the number of gets across Android and iOS: it advances to the stunning 1 billion mark. Keep reading

Full Review of Jigsaw Puzzles Real, Puzzle Yourself With Your Own Picture

Board, Puzzle and Trivia

If you are an ardent jigsaw fan, Rottz brings you the exciting app for Jigsaw Puzzle Real, with great visual creativity and almost 1000-piece jigsaws. Create puzzles from your own photos and get over 1800 photos free from this leading puzzle app.

Graphics

The app combines 2D and HD with the photos looking almost real. The game gives you that photo effect which is more of surreal with a slight bit of rendered animation. The design of the background is quite simple, 2D rustic and the game offers different backgrounds and themes which you can purchase. The graphics of this puzzle game deserve a score 8 out of 10.

What is it about?

The object of the game is very simple; create a jigsaw puzzle using photos that you have uploaded and solve that puzzle. You can select different themes (over 25), and you have almost 1800 photos to choose from online. You can also choose photos from your own album. The play level moves from Child (9 pieces) to Expert (1000 pieces).  The best part about the app is that they give you a wide variety of themes and photos to choose from. You can undo moves and take time to solve your puzzles.

The app uses a combination of tap and on-screen controls which are quite intuitive and don’t take up any space or clutter the screen. They are also fast and responsive, and the folks at Rottz regularly update them. This is convenient and great whether you are playing it on a small screen such as a Google Android device, an iPhone or iPad.

Both the iOS and Android app are free and they also both offer in-app purchases. These unlock new photo apps although you will still be able to play comfortably without the purchases with your own photos or the over 1800 photo packs offered. You can also purchase a ‘Remove Ads’ pack for $2.99. The score of the gameplay is quite high – 8.5 out of 10.

To replay or not to replay

The game is pretty awesome mainly because of the vast variety of photo packs they provide you with, and I like playing it. I can move through almost 1000 levels of puzzle which is enjoyable. Though it is a bit difficult to navigate your way through the jigsaws themselves, one ultimately gets the hang of finding their way around. Regular updates keep your photo content fresh. The replay value of this game is 8/10.

Is it Good?

I’d recommend the game to anyone having a smartphone. The experience is available to everyone, and you can get the Google Play app for Jigsaw Puzzles Real or the App Store version for your Apple device. The developers from Rottz offer enough bug fixes which means the app is always clean and there are very few hitches that I can think of. The latest version offers new themes and has a pretty neat design with a more expansive border for your banner.

The app is a good way to relax and get their creative sides thinking and can be used by both adults and children. The game offers unique creativity to it, and everyone from kids to adults will enjoy this. Real Jigsaw Puzzles is a leading puzzle game, and I’d recommend it to anyone.

Full Review of Bubble Witch 3 Saga, Be a Part of the Blasting Adventure

Board, Puzzle and Trivia

From the makers of the legendary Candy Crush, Bubble Witch 3 takes you through a journey as Stella the witch battling the troublesome cat, Wilbur. The app is free and you’ll be on your way to saving kingdoms and restoring peace to the magical lands in no time.

Graphics

The graphics are much more refined than your normal Candy Crush. You’ll get a bit of depth and feel to the color in the game. The iOS and Android app has an ever-changing graphics landscape, and the animation is very fluid. With pops and whimsical sounds, kids will love this game. Game’s visuals deserve a high mark 10 out of 10.

What Is It About?

The object of the game is to match 3 bubbles to pop them. The goal of each level varies, ranging from popping all bubbles, releasing owls that are trapped in bubbles, helping ghosts travel through a maze of bubbles, and releasing fairies to attack bosses.

You can swap bubble colors in the cauldron. You should also drop bubbles where you see the most spiders dangling. Unlock spells, upgrade your witch’s house and get pixie dust by visiting other people’s homes. While it may seem fairly simple, a good amount of strategy is needed in order to make the most of Bubble Witch and increase your longevity in the game. Use power-ups to get new abilities of lives and last longer in the game.

The iOS and Google Play app for Bubble Witch utilizes a simple tap mechanism which is quite convenient. Pressing and holding with a single finger is great for aiming and shooting, and there’s no need for superfluous controls.

The app is free to get for your Google Android or iOS device, although there are in-app purchases that you may use for power-ups and boosters. In the more complex levels, you’ll find yourself burning through lives fast. In-game money and coin purchases will assist you in these gruelling times. It is possible to play without these purchases, but it gets frustrating really quickly. This point’s score is 9/10.

To Replay or Not To Replay

I enjoyed playing Bubble Witch much like Candy Crush, and I’d replay it again. There’s a lot of variety with new levels, characters and the new boosters and power-ups which make gameplay exciting. I liked the fact that there’s an interesting storyline which makes playing a lot more fun. Replay Value score is 10/10.

Is It Good?

King is a leader when it comes to fantasy match-3 games, and they scored another ringer with this game. Bubble Witch is an awesome game, and the latest version has an even better design. It has a higher variety than Candy Crush which is a plus for King fans like me. However, you need to invest a lot of in-game money and gold bars so that you can enjoy the full experience and unlock your full potential.

The addition of new updates and features such as rebuilding Stella’s house, spellbinding modes and new power-ups and features all make the game more exciting. I’d recommend the game to any match-3 fan.

Full Review of Hidden Object: Another Interesting Game of the Genre

Board, Puzzle and Trivia

As you can see from the name of this app, it’s one more game of hidden object genre for Android. I guess the developers didn’t bother with creating a peculiar name for their app and put all of their efforts in the gameplay, the graphics, and the game itself. And the game turned out to be great indeed, at least for me.

Graphics

The graphics are great and quite detailed. When it comes to hidden object games, you probably want to explore locations with lots of different things and pieces arranged elaborately. At least, I do! And the Hidden Object locations meet that demand. The picture is beautiful, and the scale of colors enhances the mysterious atmosphere of the game. The score of the graphics is 9.5/10.

What is it about?

So, there are only 8 levels, i.e. 8 different locations where you have to find various objects. Once you complete a level, the next one becomes available. Although you can unlock all of them at once by paying a little amount of money. Anyway, you probably won’t spend more than a couple of hours on Hidden Object as there’re not so many levels and items to find. Yet there is this level with fishes which is waaay harder than other ones.

If we’re talking paid features, you have to pay if you want to block commercials. There are lots of them, and sometimes they interfere with the gameplay, yet it’s understandable that the developers want to make some money from their app. The thing is, sometimes an ad may cover the item you’re looking for, and that’s really distracting.

To complete the level, you have to find all the hidden objects in a limited amount of time. If you’re stuck, you can use a hint but remember that hints need some time to restore. I must say, some items are relatively easy to find while others take way more time, so the hints feature is pretty useful. And if you can’t find all the objects in the allotted time, you have to restart the level.

One minor con is that the game doesn’t always respond to your touch, and sometimes you have to tap the required object several times for the game to recognize it. Thank goodness, there is a zoom feature that lets you see and tap smaller things. Some parts of the screen may be too dark to distinguish the needed item, and that is another shortcoming.

Obviously, annoying glitches haven’t left this game out as it sometimes crashes, and there may be some bugs. But can you name even one app that works perfectly 100% of the time?

The Hidden Object app is free to play. It’s compatible with Android-based devices, so you can find it on Google Play. The score of the gameplay is 9 out of 10!

To replay or not to replay

There are three difficulty modes for each level: easy, medium, and hard. The harder the mode is, the less time you have to find all the objects. If you choose the easy mode, you have 3 minutes, and on the hard one, you have only 2 minutes. Also, you earn stars after completing every level and to get the maximum number of stars you have to play perfectly in every mode. So, even though there are not so many levels, you may want to replay some of them to get as many stars as you can.

Also, the set of the objects you need to find varies from time to time, so it may be interesting to replay anyway. The score of this point is 8/10.

Is it good?

To sum up, Hidden Object is a great free game of its kind that you can enjoy for a couple of hours. I like the detailed graphics, the cozy atmosphere, and the intuitive gameplay of this app. There are not so many levels, and small glitches may interfere with the gaming process. So, if you’re a hardcore fan of hidden object games, maybe this one won’t impress you so much, but I believe it’s worth a try anyway

Full Review of Cross-Stitch World, Open a Designer in Yourself

Board, Puzzle and Trivia

Cross Stitch is a leading game that lets you create beautiful stitch patterns from real life impressions that you can upload to your Google Android or iOS device easily. Experience the joy of threading to bring designs to life from a collection of over 1000 patterns.

Graphics

The app for Cross-Stitch offers real-life 2D stitches which you can zoom in on. The stitches themselves are cartoony and are more animated than real, although pictures that you upload to the app itself give it a very post-animated feel. The graphics themselves are a combination of camera mosaic super-imposed on a dark, airless backdrop. The rate of this app is 8/10.

What is it about?

Once you’ve got the app on your iPad, iPhone or Android device, you can proceed to choose a pattern for your application and then zoom in either twice or thrice the focus. Use numbers and letters to fill the patterns with the correct colors. You can also choose to have the threads of the pattern of the chosen color highlighted, or you can opt for turning this feature off.

If you make a mistake, select Undo or use the un-picker to go back to the selected color. You will get an alert once you make a mistake and see how many they are. You can also find out where the remaining stitches are and you can also zoom in on this area. Choose a pattern from the app’s collection or get one from your photos or Facebook and name your pattern.

You can work on one pattern a day although with in-game money you can purchase more patterns.

Both Android app and iOS version need a simple drag and tap movement with either one or two fingers. The simple movements are convenient for the game because they work on every touch screen and will leave your screen uncluttered. The controls are updated and rarely change.

Cross-stitch is free, but it requires in-game money if you are to purchase any extra patterns daily since you can work only on one free pattern per day. Cross Stitch cash packs range from 3500 coins for $4.99 to 40000 coins for $39.99. Unless you are comfortable with just a single pattern, you’ll definitely need in-app purchases to buy extra pattern packs. The rate is 9/10.

To replay or not to replay

The game was really enjoyable for me, and I still play it on my phone, although in-game purchases for the pattern packs are quite costly. I find the game quite relaxing and therapeutic. It is also quite easy to adapt to so I never get stuck. The replay value of this game is quite high – 9/10.

Is it good?

I’d recommend getting either the App Store or Google Play app for Cross-Stitch anytime. The app is well-thought out, and it has a tremendous creative aspect to it. I love the game and can spend hours-on-end just trying to create a single pattern. Some of the pictures especially those I got from the internet have resolutions that don’t augur well with the app’s, even when you zoom in.

The app creators give you regular updates which let you enjoy the game without too many bugs. The game is also ads-free which is a huge advantage and make the play really fun. The latest version also has upgraded graphics which adds to the appeal.

Full Review of Dominoes, Classic Puzzle Game

Board, Puzzle and Trivia

Dominoes is a fun and relaxing way of building your mind and logical capacities by matching tiles and scoring higher than your opponents. Play against bots or real players with this free game for your Google Android with Dominoes by Carl Hopf and see why this game has been so popular in history.

Graphics

The app has cool, relaxed 2D graphics which are nicely rendered to give a sense of depth to the animations. The graphics are simply designed with several layers of windows and the main dominoes scene having a dark, smooth background. A large screen such as on a tablet will bring all the windows on one screen. The score of the graphics is quite high – 7.5/10.

What is it about?

The aim of dominoes is to be the player with the most matching sets of tiles by adding sets of dominoes. There are three game modes you can play in; Muggins, Block, and Draw. There are 28 tiles marked with 0 to 6 dots, similar to dice. The player then picks the order of play, and once the double tile is set up, the player can start dealing from the set of 7 that he had opened, packing tiles with similar counts on their ends aside.

If the player isn’t able to add a tile for whatever reason, they forfeit their count. The player who deals all their 7 tiles wins and receives points equal to the total count on the remaining tiles of the opponent. In Block mode, play tiles and get points by having the fewest tiles left. One can also draw when blocked, or play all fives with a Spinner.

Choose your play difficulty level and challenge yourself, play against an AI or invite player online to spar with you, and check your ranking on the leaderboard.

The controls on the Google Play app for Dominoes are a simple combination of tap and swipe. This is convenient for smartphone users who might not have too much space on their screens and may be looking to avoid clutter on their play areas.

This version of the game is only available on Android, although another version by Carl Hopf, i.e., Dominoes PlayDrift is available on iOS too.

The Android app is free but offers an ads-free in-app purchase ranging from $1.32 to $3.17 per item. You can play without the in-apps, but your progress through the game levels may be significantly slower.  The score of this point is 8/10.

To replay or not to replay

Maybe I’d play again if they considered making certain amendments to the rolling and the Random Number Generator. It’s fun to play but looks like some of the outcomes are premeditated. I’d say there’s quite a bit of cheating. The controls are however great. I also like the online multiplayer option. The replay value is 5.5/10.

Is it good?

I like the general design of the app and the fact that you have a wide variety of competitors to choose from. However, I doubt these are real competitors although you might not notice this initially when you start playing the game. There are very minimal ads on the app. Carl Hopf also provides players with enough updates to keep the game glitch-free. The latest version has slightly more levels and has new opponents which make things exciting.

I’d recommend the game as one of the leading versions of dominoes out there but be prepared to be disappointed with the RNG.

Full Review of Jigsaw Puzzle. Jump into the world of puzzles

Board, Puzzle and Trivia

The app for Jigsaw Puzzle recreates the real thing almost perfectly, without the added disadvantage of losing your pieces. Play with up to 400 pieces on your tablets and up to 100 pieces on smaller screens. No two puzzles are ever the same so no getting bored with this leading puzzle app.

Graphics

The game utilizes a mix of colorful HD pictures and 2D background, consisting of original art from famous collections. The graphics look akin to a real recorded jigsaw and the entire design bursts to life when you put the pieces together. Graphics of the app deserves the highest mark – 10/10.

What is it about?

Firstly, I have to mention that you can play the game on any Google Android phone, iPad or iPhone. Depending on the difficulty level chosen, you can choose as few as 4 pieces or as many as 400 pieces. You can also get different game packs and use your own photos for creating your puzzles too.

The app allows you to move the puzzle pieces into groups and you can also scatter pieces with a single command. With in-game purchases, you can get puzzle packs making the game more exciting, and you can also share your puzzles with friends. The app also saves every puzzle you’ve solved which is pretty neat.

The app uses a combination of swipe-and-tap to drag pieces across the puzzle board. The simple mechanism also makes it easier for children and persons of any age group to adjust to the game easily. The controls are quite convenient and frequently updated. The intuitive controls let you enjoy the full-screen experience.

Jigsaw Puzzle is free for both iOS and Android, but there are some in-app purchases. Get HD picture packs such as World Tour for $3.99, Forest for $4.99 and Nature for $3.99. You can play without these, but it won’t be as fun. This point’s score is 9/10.

Replay or not to replay

I play the game every day because of how many puzzles I am afforded: they never repeat. I believe it is impossible to run out of pictures. I also liked the fact that you can use your own image to create a puzzle. Moreover, you can make the game as simple or as hard as you want. The score of the replay value is 10/10.

Is it good?

This is an excellent game which you can get as an iOS or Android app, which takes care of most users. In addition to all its other advantages, you can also play multiple games at once. I had a few problems with the app freezing on my phone, but the latest version fixed that.

With Jigsaw, I can play with my little niece, or I can have fun with my mum. The app is easy enough to control, and the controls are pretty seamless. I personally prefer playing the app on a tab because of the fairly larger screen size and the ability to move my fingers around more comfortably. You’ll play this game for hours on end. It is quite addictive. Unfortunately, you have to pay to fully enjoy some of the better puzzles of the game. Get the Google Play app for Jigsaw Puzzle or the App Store app for iOS and discover your new favorite past time.

Full Review of Backgammon: Become the Lord of the Board

Board, Puzzle and Trivia

Backgammon online introduces one of the oldest strategy games in the world as an iOS and Android app. Backgammon is not only difficult, but it is also exciting. Beat opponents around the world with real-life strategy and take your journey from novice to master with this leading board game app.

Graphics

The graphics on the app are colorful, animated 2D which look especially great on new iPhones, iPads and newer models of Google Android devices. However, they are a bit devoid of realism, and there’s nothing too special about the checkers, triangles or dice. The board design isn’t distractive, and the lack of on-screen controls apart from customized prompts helps on-screen play and movement. The score is 8/10.

What is it about?

Like the typical backgammon exercise, the game begins with one roll of the die, and the player with the highest on-die number moves first. Then comes subsequent moves with each player rolling both dice and moving forward in clockwise or anti-clockwise directions according to the die combinations. If both dice end up on a similar number, the player plays the die combinations twice each. Players forfeit their turns when they roll a combination that makes one or both die moves impossible.

The app for Backgammon offers a variety of play options such as multiplayer through their large online community and CPU mode. Both the App Store and Google Play app for Backgammon provides a range of features and new challenges designed to make your game more exciting, even with new updates. You can check your stats and request games with more skilled players. You can also gamble and win in-game money and mega bonuses, although there isn’t any real money offered.

The controls are a simple combination of tap-and-play, with the dice using a Random Number Generator to produce their results (debatable!). The controls are efficient for the ancient game of backgammon which itself doesn’t have too much hand movement, and they also free up any clutter on the screen adding to the playing appeal. They are also quite fluid and responsive.

Backgammon offers in-app purchases which you can use to unlock new levels or features. You can swap real dollars for in-game coins which you can use for various actions. Packs include the Starter Pack $4.99, Advanced package $19.99, Premium package for $99.99 and the 12,000 Coins package for $0.99, among others. You can play without these, but you’ll want to make it more interesting at some point. The rate of this point is 9 out of 10.

To replay or not to replay

I wouldn’t replay this app version for one simple reason. Too many times the opponent beats you unfairly. RNGs should be ‘random’ enough to imitate real-life dice outcomes, especially for small number combinations like those modelled by 6-piece die. This version of Backgammon could be interesting enough if the creators would take time to maintain the unpredictability of their DevOps, especially in opponents playing impossible catch up doubles. The replay value score is low, only 3 out of 10.

Is it good?

I like the graphics of the game and the ease with which movement on the controls can be made. The latest version connects really fast, and especially if you are going online for multiplayer games. The game is free, so that’s a good thing. The in-app purchases will, unfortunately, be inevitable when you are losing.

I probably wouldn’t recommend this version of Backgammon to anyone. Your opponents are most likely bots.

Have Fun with Bejeweled Blitz. Read The Review!

Board, Puzzle and Trivia

Bejeweled Blitz is another «three-in-a-row» game that has the advantage of interesting graphics, various boosts, and tight integration with social networks, namely Facebook. The game has been on the market for so long that you’ve probably played it at some point. Still, I believe there are some people who aren’t familiar with the Bejeweled Blitz app, so let’s take a look!

Graphics

I love the game graphics as they’re clear, bright and interesting. They absolutely suit this kind of app, and various animations that are shown after a round are lovely! The very game process is also lively and bright, and there are different effects following almost every action.

I’ve seen reviews where people complained about graphics and claimed that they had been better before the latest update. Since I’m new to this game, it seems that I installed just this latest version, so I have nothing to compare with.

What concerns the latest update, I’ve seen complaints that now the game often freezes and crashes. Also, there are a lot of ads that is frustrating, although you may be actually used to it. The score of the graphics is 8/10.

What is it about?

As I mentioned earlier, Bejeweled Blitz is a three-in-a-row game, and your main goal is to score as many points as you can. One round lasts for only 1 minute, so you should be fast and also wise to get more score.

There are some useful boosts to help you such as increasing the round time, the explosion of dynamite, stirring all the crystals, and some others. The higher level you reach, the more amplifiers are available, so at the beginning, you can’t just use any booster you’d like. And you can only use 3 boosters at the same time. You can buy these bonuses using the coins that you earn in the game.

There are hints available, although you can turn them off if you prefer to find a match all by yourself. The auto hint appears after 3-4 seconds of your inaction.

If we’re talking controls, they’re pretty convenient and simple. I believe there is nothing complicated in the gameplay.

If you’re fond of three-in-a-row games, you may notice that Bejeweled Blitz doesn’t offer something new. The graphics are good, the gameplay is advanced, and the bonuses are useful. Yet the game definitely lacks a story or a plot that many other games of that kind have. Bejeweled Blitz may be pretty interesting and even addictive at first, and the features such as the Daily Spin, the Events, and the Daily Bonus seem to keep up your interest. But soon I got bored as you get to play one-minute rounds over and over.

One more feature of the game is tight integration with social networks which I also mentioned before. If your friends on Facebook also play Bejeweled Blitz, you will be able to see their scores and compete with them, trying to score more points. I’m not a big fan of such competitions as I play three-in-a-row games to have some fun and relax but if you’re competitive enough – this feature is made just for you.

Some useful features are paid, yet the game is free to play. There is even a tutorial at the beginning, although the gaming process isn’t that complicated.

The game is compatible not only with Android but also with iOS so you can get this app on Google Play and on App Store, too. It’s available for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. The score of this point is 8/10.

To replay or not to replay

As the game is monotonous to some extent, I see no point in replaying. Every new round seems to be a kind of replay itself. Obviously, the more rounds you play, the more bonuses are available and the more achievements you get. I guess if you decide to delete the game and then re-install it, all of your progress will be lost. The score of the replay value is 5/10.

Is it good?

Overall, Bejeweled Blitz is a nice puzzle game that will probably appeal to all fans of the three-in-a-row genre. It has its strengths such as advanced gameplay, colorful graphics, and various bonuses that make the game more interesting and complex. Bejeweled Blitz doesn’t contribute anything new to the genre, and there may be some glitches after the latest update.
